Anne Fricke & Amy Day
Anne was raised in southern Indiana, but found her home in Humboldt County nearly 16 years ago. She fell in love with the people, the land and the culture - and it is this - along with her passion for Stories - that led her to the co-creation of MEND.
She is a graduate of Humboldt State University, with a degree in Anthropology, and continues to travel far and wide, whenever life allows. In the moments when her three children aren't vying for her attention, you can find her crafting some new work of poetry, fiction or whatever else the Muse inspires her toward.
Anne's first published book of poetry, Susurrus: whispers behind this life, along with some of her other writings & recordings of poetry performances, as well, can be viewed at her personal website at annefricke.com.
Amy is a longtime blogger, performer, teacher & lifelong student of the Page. She moved to Humboldt County at the ripe, old age of 17, and (with the exception of a brief love affair with the Big Island of Hawaii), has been happy to call this region home ever since.
She is the author of a one-woman show, Finding My Feet, a graduate of the Dell Arte School Of Physical Theatre, and is currently working on a longer work of creative nonfiction. (Check out her current musings on Life, Practice & eking out the Holy in the midst of the Mundane over at TheWorkofTheseHands.com ).
You can find her out in the world instructing handstands, or holed up at a coffee shop somewhere communing with her trusty laptop. Always, always dreaming & scheming up ways to usher in more imperfect, intrepid beauty to the World.
